Hello Jill! I have a question for you. I am going back to school in August and am looking to buy, rather than rent, the place where I will be living. In undergrad, I rented. Now I feel that paying rent during 4 years of medical school would be like throwing $$ down the toilet when I could buy. However, I will have no income and will have to rely primarily on student loans. I'm hoping that my parents will at least help me co-sign and/or help financially somehow and that at the end of 4 years, I would have made a wise investment. Given my situation, what are your thoughts on renting vs. buying?

ReplyDeleteHi Jill-Billy!
ReplyDeleteI have a question! As first time home-buyers last time, obviously we just terminated our leases to move in, but now, when we are ready to look into buying again, do we have to sell our before we look, or what's this about a "contingency" something? It seems like if we had to sell ours first, we'd be homeless, which isn't fun...we know! ha. Maybe that would be a good post...a Looking & Selling timeline! You are fabulous!!! xoxo hh
Jill,
ReplyDeleteI love your new blog. Doug has started one for us to chronicle his "retirement" activities. You should read it sometime. I think a blog with real estate tips, home decorating ideas and recipes would be great! Keep blogging.
Vicki
Hi Jill
ReplyDeleteI am fan of Meredith's blog! Here are my two blog post requests:
#1 I would like to know any tips you may have in entertaining poolside with food. Do you use any neat serving dishes? how do you keep the food at the appropriate temp without spending a fortune?
#2 Is this a good time to buy a home to use as rental property OR to use as a vacation home?
Thanks!
